I used to love the old Dos Equis beer commercials featuring “The Most Interesting Man in the World.” Both the actor who played the man and the stories that surrounded him were dripping with charisma and charm. Although he was a fictional character, he came across as a genuinely interesting man.
Why aren’t more men seen as interesting today? There are plenty of good men out there, men who are well-liked and respected, but not particularly interesting. They blend in, go about their day, and generally stay under the radar. To be clear, there’s nothing inherently wrong with living that way. Being interesting isn’t about being flashy, and it’s certainly not about being the loudest voice in the room.
A truly interesting man is one who has substance. He lives a life that gives him something to say, and the presence to say it well. You probably know a few men like that in your own life. They’re the kind of men people enjoy being around, because they naturally draw people in without arrogance or self-absorption. While these men may seem rare, the truth is you can become one of them. In the article that follows, I’ll show you how to build that kind of substance for yourself.
