I love romance movies and concur with your choices. Many others could be added to the list. One of my favorites is When Harry Met Sally. It’s an unexpected love story that grew over time. Quirky, funny, and very sweet, especially the vignettes of the older couples and how they met. I feel the same way about The Holiday, although usually watched at Christmas. Again, unexpected love found.
I love that When Harry Met Sally got the ending it did because Rob Reiner met his future wife during the production. Their true love story made the movie ending & the film story into a timeless (tho modern) tale, one for the ages, since it was released.
Yes. "The Last of the Mohicans" is a man's love story. "Do what you must to survive. I will find you." You have certainty established credibility. Take care.
This is a perfect idea for those of us that have gone the long haul with our spouse. Deepen the appreciation of what it took to get here. The “we have it”, “we did it”, and “I’d do it again” kind of love. I think we’ll be watching a movie together Saturday night!
I’m not into holidays. I don’t like someone telling me what days should be special. I do like your movie choices(Princess Bride is my favorite), but Dirty Harry is special because that was our first date. Separation due to military deployment, missing all the designated holidays taught us what truly are special days.
Haven't seen some of those, (I'm old 🤣), but "Casablanca" has some great scenes; still my favorite Bogart & Bacall movie is "Dark Passage". "Last Of The Mohicans" I relate to for a lot more than just the love story, both sides of my family came here in 1620, and when I say some of the things they experienced were "Mohicans" level stuff, I'm not joking. It's in the blood
But since you don't mind black-and-white, you really owe it to yourself to also check out "Random Harvest", with Ronald Coleman and Greer Garson. It is the ultimate tear-jerker, and "eternal love" type story. Show it to girls, they will melt. 😏🤣

Beautiful
Yes Reiner’s own love story that changed the ending makes the movie all the more special.
I love When Harry Met Sally. That is one of my wife’s favorites. Great choice!
Superb list. I always thought Bram Stoker's Dracula to be a powerful albeit dark love story.
Thank you. I had not thought about Dracula but you’re right!

Great suggestions
You may or not be a Streisand fan but “The Way We Were” with Redford is a masterpiece
Plus “The Mirror Has Two Faces” with the Dude, Jeff Bridges!
I need to check out both! Thanks for the recommendations!

Love it!
Seconding the Last of the Mohicans recommendation. Excellent and underrated romantic movie.

nothing beats "the age of adeline"

I own and love and have rewatched each of these several times. Good on you!
